| <poem>In diesem Gebäude wird das gewonnene Iridiumerz [[Datei:w iridiumerz.png]] zu Iridium [[Datei:w iridium.png]]verarbeitet. Iridium besteht aus sechsfach verdichtetem Iridiumerz, welches

| in dieser Fabrik auf 3500 Grad Celsius erhitzt wird, um dann in Iridiumbarren gegossen zu werden. Bei der Produktion wird Iridiumerz so massiv verdichtet, dass es danach wesentlich weniger Platz auf der Kolonie benötigt als vorher. Iridium selbst ist aber eigentlich nur ein Zwischenprodukt auf dem Weg zu [[Forschung:Duraniumanlage|Duranium]]. Das ist ein Grundsatz in der Verwerfung: Viele Metalle können mehrfach veredelt werden. Durch die Verkleinerung und qualitative Verbesserung erreichen Sie damit ein besseres Endprodukt. Iridum kann zum wesentlich wichtigeren [[Forschung:Duraniumanlage|Duranium]] [[datei:w_duranium.png]] weiterverarbeitet werden, was auch seinerseits für manche [[Module|Schiffsbauteile]] benötigt wird. </poem>
